Qdos Event Hire was established in April 2010 and provides high quality temporary accommodation, welfare and toilet facilities with superior service levels to the outdoor event industry. Qdos is the latest addition to the Newship Group, a well-established, privately owned group of manufacturing, distribution and hire companies. Qdos has successfully delivered units to many of the UK’s leading outdoor events including; Farnborough International Airshow, V Festival, the Ryder Cup, the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee and Winter Wonderland.

For the second year in succession Qdos Event Hire provided all portable accommodation and welfare facilities for the prestigious Festival of Speed. Qdos supported the organiser with a single order solution, providing a full and comprehensive range of toilets, showers, disabled wet-rooms, cabins, offices and storage containers throughout the site.
Qdos also provided and managed a range of added value services to complement the products being supplied, this included carpenters to build and install over 80 purpose built access steps and ramps, cladding to finish and dress units, daily toilet servicing and LPG Gas for showers.
More than 400 units were installed in total, including: almost 200 event cabins and containers; over 40 showers; 80 jack leg toilet blocks, in a combination of male, female and disabled and almost 100 plastic toilets. Qdos invested £450k in brand new jackleg toilets with a sleek, modern contemporary design in 2015 in order to fulfil the contract. New for 2016 were 10 cabins supplied directly to agencies and suppliers who had been engaged by a number of major brands participating in the event, these included: Vauxhall, Nissan, Jaguar Land Rover, McLaren and BMW. In addition, Qdos also provided extra units for the OB compound and created a 21 bay site operations office using the CTX Modular Solution.
The Qdos team initially arrive onsite on the 2nd May assuming responsibility for the installation and siting of all units, including the bespoke elements. Toilet and shower facilities were distributed throughout the event site and adjacent campsites. Cabins, hospitality units and storage containers were used as offices for contractors, medical centres, press and media areas and green rooms all over the Goodwood Estate. Taking pride of place were units with the F1 Paddock, Top Paddock, and the Rally Stage. Qdos was also delighted to reinstall their custom made Commentators’ Box that overlooks the track.
Qdos Event Hire provided temporary accommodation, welfare and toilet facilities to the Farnborough International Airshow for the third event in succession. The units were for the benefit of exhibitors, visitors and suppliers attending the week-long event dedicated to the aerospace and defence industries. The trade exhibition and public air show and welcomes over 200,000 visitors across seven days.
Although the first day of the show was 11th July, the Qdos team arrived onsite in March, with a dedicated project manager there every single day of the install, ensuring production and hospitality suites were ready for when the organisers and suppliers to the event required them.
A whole host of suppliers required hospitality units including: De Boer, GES Blitz, DB Systems, Carrier Rental Systems, Arena Structures, SHB, Showforce, Smart AV, CSP, G4S, Sagum and RJA Security. The cabins ranged in size from 12’ to 40’, with several different configurations, including splits, links and double stacked units with staircases.
Qdos also supplied and installed a modular building to CEVA, the event’s official logistics supplier. Used as its main operations office, the bespoke design, double stacked cabin had its own staircase; six bays downstairs and four bays upstairs, with two observation balconies.

In addition, Qdos supplied jackleg toilets to the event from its extensive range. This included: a mix of ladies and gents, urinals, ladies only, gents only and disabled units. Throughout the installation, open days of the event and derig, a dedicated project manager provided a single point of contact to ensure a personal, fast and efficient service was delivered to this large scale, multi-faceted and complex project.
Qdos Event Hire has supplied cabins to V Festival in Chelmsford every year since its inception in 2010. This year was no exception with more than 150 cabins required by the organisers and production team for the duration of the build, show days and de-rig of the event.

V Festival is Qdos’ single biggest, cabin only, job of the year and its entire product range is deployed to successfully fulfil the contract. It takes a great deal of preparation and logistical planning to ensure that everything is delivered to site in the correct order and location. Installing and removing more than 150 cabins in the allotted timescale is a real achievement and utilises Qdos’ onsite project management team’s skillsets to the fullest.
With the first cabin installed on 7th August, the onsite team had just over a week to ensure that all the cabins were in place by 16thAugust. Once the event concluded the team then had a small window for the removal of most of the cabins, leaving before 26th August, and just a handful remaining until the following week for production.
The 150 cabins were supplied for a whole range of purposes in a variety of sizes including 8ft x 8ft, 10ft x 8ft and 20ft x 8ft containers used for storage including pyrotechnics; 8ft x 8ft ticket offices; 12ft x 9ft open plan offices; 16ft x 9ft open plan offices with windowed ticket offices; 24ft x 9ft and 24ft x 10ft supplied in a combination of open plan offices, split offices and windowed ticket offices; 24ft x 10ft; 32ft x 10ft and 40ft x 10ft hospitality units and 20ft x 8ft modular units with balconies.

Many of the cabins were supplied with additional features such as internal locking doors, furniture, carpeting, heating, sinks, counter tops and additional partition walls ensuring all the units were delivered to organiser’s exact requirements.
Two additional units were provided for V Festival’s key sponsors Mahiki and Smirnoff.
Qdos Event Hire was appointed by H-Power, organiser of the Royal Windsor Horse Show, HMQ90, International Endurance and the Long Walk, to supply a selection of their high quality and diverse range of toilets and shower facilities into the spectacular grounds of Windsor Castle.
The castle was in the spotlight for Her Majesty The Queen’s 90th birthday celebrations, with a number of events over a two-day period. HMQ90, hosted a fournight theatrical show, celebrating the queen’s life, with members of the Royal family due to attend each evening and the final event was broadcast live on ITV. On the final night of the celebration, a pre-performance party and live screening of the ITV broadcast took place.
The Royal Windsor Horse Show hosts the highest quality show jumping, dressage, International Endurance and the Land Rover International Driving Grand Prix, along with a multitude of national jumping and showing classes, as well as outstanding equestrian displays.
Qdos supplied over a hundred toilet and shower facilities, in a variety of configurations and sizes, from their extensive product range, throughout the grounds of the Castle, ensuring that the event had a full range of amenities for participants and visitors.
The products installed included eight of their four bay gas showers, all gas heated to ensure hot water along with spacious and private changing areas. The showers were situated at different locations across the park, including; organisers camping, Pea Field Copse, Archery Copse, the stables for The Royal Windsor Horse Show and Potts Field.
A large quantity and variety of toilets were supplied including: single self-contained free standing plastic pods; luxury vacuum toilet trailers, with a fresh water flush and traditional toilet trailers, with a re-circulating flush.
The mixture of male, female and disabled units were supplied with vanity wash basins, electric lighting, hand towels, soap, toilet rolls, and tidy bins.
Qdos also provided a dedicated project management team to oversee the installation and carry out maintenance during event days.
