Commencing in March, this entire area comprising of multiple units is planned and delivered by McAvoy to fully meet the infrastructure demands of the NW200 Management Team, Sponsors, Statutory Agencies and support services for the event in May. “ Â“The former cabins had been in place in excess of 10 years, the standard of insulation was poor and there was a need for one open plan modern accommodation area. Following a tender process, UCB engaged The McAvoy Group to design, build and install a modular build system that would meet their future needs in a modern office accommodation building. The order was placed in Sept 2015, the 10 modules were delivered to site Feb 15th and were all assembled within one day. Within three weeks the build was fully complete ready for personnel to move in and the following week the area was occupied. McAvoy have delivered office accommodation to a global pharmaceutical company that specialises in the development and commercialisation of innovative biopharmaceuticals for serious diseases and medical conditions.THE
As part of the ongoing development of the manufacturing plant operations the client had a requirement for a large, high sepcification office building to accommodate the growth in staff numbers.
Subsequent to a competitive tendering process McAvoy were awared the contract to design and build a 979m2 single storey office building which was to be linked to the main facility.
The design brief was simple, there had to be no discernable difference between the main office facility and the decant office. McAvoy provided a building of exceptional quality and comfort meeting very strict client criteria.
The option to hire the building over a prolonged period represented good value for the client, the ability to budget for the revenue spend rather than expend significant capital allows the client more flexibility.
A transport and logistics plan was required to deliver the 24 no. 12m x 3.6m modules. Special permission was sought from An Garda Siochana to approve the abnormal load height of 3.8m.
The client demanded an innovative approach to the project so McAvoy proposed the use of ‘Jackpads’ as a reusable foundation system, this negated the need for substructure excavations and contributed to a reduced programme of works.
Due to the building’s proximity to the main office, one elevation had to be upgraded to 1 hour fire rated in/out and out/in.
The McAvoy Group was awarded a contract by a global corporation to design, build and supply a turnkey modular building project to accommodate over 1,400 office staff.
McAvoy supplied seven modular classrooms to its client, Lowry Building and Civil Engineering, to facilitate a temporary requirement while the extension and refurbishment works take place at the existing school.
McAvoy carried out site visits with the client and Armstrong Primary School prior to installation as the site was particularly tight. These sight visits allowed all parties to agree the location of the classrooms and the logistics of delivery and installation.
McAvoy had the modular classrooms already available, which meant they could work to the client’s tight programme.
The refurbishment and extension is part of the School Enhancement Programme (SEP) which was announced in 2013 for construction projects costing between £500,000 and £4,000,000.
The programme is targeted to meet the immediate and pressing needs in schools, through smaller scale works, where a new capital build capital works is not deemed deliverable.
The Coleraine Motorcycle Club, has for a number of years required a considerable number of multi-space buildings for the road races. McAvoy delivered and installed buildings to house staff tasked with ensuring the smooth administration and running of the sporting event. McAvoy has been supplying the club with an average of 40 of its multi-space buildings for the past 15 years, delivering premises for ticket offices, radio-control rooms, safe-spaces, welfare, first aid facilities and security – all vital components of the race week.
