The MPBA annual golf day we are delighted to say was again a great success this year.
A record number of 80 members and guests teed off having breakfast baps in the clubhouse starting the day under a cloudy sky.
Not letting this worry them they played the Ullesthorpe course with enthusiasm and a lot of banter. Players were followed around by David taking a video of their play (oh dear).
Halfway house (9th Tee) was a great surprise to find their hosts AJC/Easycabin had sited a welfare unit stocked with refreshments to see them on their way refreshments were also contributed by Aquatec. The bonus to members was Lisa Gillett(AJC) Katie Potter and Helen Munro(Aquatec) were there to see ensure that they were fed and watered before they were sent on their way.
After a long day where the weathered improved members gathered again in the club house to share their hits and misses on the course. It really is worth sitting in the background as an observer?
Our evening dinner started with pre -dinner drinks – with 100 guests for the evening.
Following dinner, we were entertained by David showing a video of the players of the day with a Peter Allis commentary, surprisingly no one left the room, there was however a lot of laughter and banter.
This year our chosen charity was Candlelighters for whom we raised an outstanding £3000 with the generosity of the members.
Results of the day’s events:
Team Winners – AJC Trailers Limited
Single Winner – Marc Prince / Welfare 4 Hire Limited
